| The evening of February 9th. The Alabama Theater debuted an
extraordinary show that sets a new standard for the
entertainment business not only for Myrtle Beach, but for
the entire East Coast. The show is cleverly titled ONE.
This simple name is completely appropriate for this one-of-
a-kind musical production that is guaranteed to astonish
and delight any Myrtle Beach visitor.
After experiencing ONE, everything else will seen second.
To describe ONE in detail presents a challenge because
there is so much to experience within this two-hour show.
Just about every musical genre is explored and in many
different ways.
From Country to Rock, From Broadway to Big Band, From Pop
to Tap, From Hollywood to Gospel. From the huge opening
of ""Rock This Town"" to the spectacular costuming and
animals of the Lion King's ""Circle of Life"". From the
touching acoustical tribute to ""Mr. Bojangles"" beautifully
performed by a shadow dancer to the tap dancers of ""42nd
Street"". From the current country hits of Shedaisy, Faith
Hill, Vince Gill and, of course, Alabama to the audience
participation in the conga line in Gloria Estefan's ""Get
Happy"". The Show Finishes with an uplifting gospel section
proceeding the huge production and pageantry of the unique
patriotic finale that had many in the audience in
tears. |
